History
Some clients I had been seeing at a San Francisco based social service agency requested greater privacy than could be offered at the agency. It also became clear that, as a 'branch director' I found myself more in the role of an administrator than a therapist and began to miss the more dynamic arena of therapy, one that enlivened almost all my days since leaving grad school. As it happened, a former colleague and friend had just received her license as a psychologist, and we decided to share an office across from Mt. Zion Hospital. As our practices grew so did our need for full time space and Ms. Thorson moved to another location. We remain friends and have, over the last 32 years, shared the experience of balancing a passion for the work we love and the attention to both body and spirit that's required to continue to do it.
