The Glendale Youth Alliance (GYA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that partners with government, education, businesses, and the community to provide jobs and employment preparedness training for low-income youth aged 14-24. Established in 1993, GYA operates six programs that offer mentored employment opportunities to youth, ranging from subsidized jobs for those who have never worked before to programs for older youth seeking unsubsidized employment. GYA also provides comprehensive services to assist youth with additional barriers to employment, such as foster youth, those with disabilities, parenting youth, and youth on probation.
Through their programs, GYA offers up to 200 hours of paid work experience in various fields, rental assistance programs for low-income families, homeless services including hotel vouchers and support for transitioning into permanent housing, training and case management, and health services. GYA has been instrumental in helping youth discover their passions and career paths, providing them with the necessary tools and support to succeed in the workforce.
