HistoryDean Sullivan, founder of Sullivan Studios, has been in the photography business over 30 years and has been in the graphic design business nearly as long. After shooting his first wedding while still in high school, Dean set up darkrooms and taught at other schools in the area. As staff photographer for a local magazine, he expanded into graphic design - early 80s old school design utilizing type setting, border tape, layout grids and waxers, and started Sullivan Studios shortly after. The Studio focused on weddings and portraiture for years, with a full service studio on Second Street in Baywood for many years. Increasingly, as local businesses needed design services, the Studio began to offer print and web design.
