An extension of Fox Television, Fox Sports Net is a network of cable television stations that broadcast a variety of sports programming. The network includes nearly 20 regional stations including FSN Chicago, FSN Florida, FSN Midwest, FSN New England, FSN New York, FSN Rocky Mountain and FSN Southwest many of which were independent companies before being acquired by Fox Television. Each station broadcasts local sports both amateur and professional such as baseball, football, basketball, hockey, stockcar racing, golf, soccer, tennis and boxing events. The network, formally called Fox Sports Regional Networks, also includes radio affiliates that broadcast sporting events, as well as sports-related talk and news programming. Fox Sports Net, also known as FSN, began broadcasting in 1995. It has headquarters in Los Angeles.
