History
Fluff Ice stemmed as an idea of bringing an alternative to the traditional dessert concept. 22-year old Nicholas Huang and Annie Tran wanted to create something that was even less caloric than frozen yogurt or gelato. The two had heard about this type of ice and saw its booming popularity in Asia. However, they also saw a lack of supply in the United States. Thus, the two set out to make a mainstream version of the product. The two Monterey Park residents had the idea to create a storefront to serve their unique product in their hometown, but were severely hindered by funding . While looking for investors, they came across another long-time Monterey Park resident, Matthew Hui, and David Wang, a business consultant who completed the needed funding to make their dream a reality. The four of them formed Fluff Ice, LLC, and shortly after, opened their storefront on April 8, 2011.
