First Baptist Church of Castro Valley sits on the corner of Redwood Road and Seven Hills Road. It has a campus-like layout with separate buildings for its worship center, ministry center and preschool. Manicured bushes and outside benches line a curved walkway, leading visitors to each of its buildings. Pastor Don Ott helps run "the most affordable youth sports league in the East Bay," the co-ed Crossover Castro Valley Youth Basketball League, which partners with the NBA's Golden State Warriors to provide free uniforms to players.
