History
Ferndale Children's Center was founded in 1989. The school was established to serve the needs of Ferndale area families with preschool and school age children. We are a non-profit corporation (License #125401081 & #121373035) governed by a five member Board of Directors, made up of members of the community. We are supported by tuition, community grants, and fund raising efforts by our parents. The Ferndale Children's Center is licensed by the State of California, Department of Social Services. We are a member of the Professional Association for Childhood Education and we meet their strict guidelines for membership. We are licensed for children aged 2-12.
Specialties
The goal of our program is to give each child a fun, rich, challenging experience which will help each child become a confident, secure individual. We believe that children learn by doing; therefore, our program provides lots of opportunities to make choices and explore the environment. Our teachers are readily available to the children, asking them questions, supporting and guiding them, and offering help where needed.
