History
I received my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology form the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA which places emphasis on social and cultural influences and their effects on our experiences and the psychotherapeutic process. My comprehensive clinical training includes outpatient, inpatient hospital, residential treatment, and crisis intervention experience. Prior to my career shift to counseling psychology (2007), I was working in biotechnology in research, project management, product coordination, senior management and executive management positions. During the biotech years, I became interested in the challenges women continue to face at work/academia and in their personal lives with a desire to balance it all. With gratitude, in 2007, I took the leap to to follow my true passion to support and to help empower others uncover their voices (including bringing awareness to the unique dilemmas women face), identify their strengths, tap into intuition, and meet their goals.
Specialties
I work with women to find balance and fulfillment in life. In the Bay Area's hyper-competitive environment, it can be overwhelming to manage the seemingly endless set of expectations placed upon us. Work/school, money, technology/media, and relationship stressors can leave us feeling worried, depleted, and stuck in life. My practice's mission is to empower women to identify and harness their singular strengths to help take charge in an otherwise unpredictable world. Some of my specialties include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, work issues (including impostor syndrome and career dissatisfaction), interpersonal/relationship issues (beginnings/endings, dating, etc.), body image and addiction.
