History
Elderday started out as a social day program for seniors living alone. In the early days, seniors were picked up by staff and brought into the center and then brought home later that day. Elderday's first location was in the Harvey West area, near the park. Years later the center moved to Live Oak, where it became an Adult Day Health Care Center. Adult day health care centers are overseen by the California Department of Aging, Department of Health Care Services and licensed by the California Department of Public Health. In the early 1990s Elderday relocated to Ocean Street where it remained for many many years. In 2005, Elderday, yet again, relocated to the Harvey West area where it remains to this day.
