Opened in July of 2009, El Manjar is a relatively new player in the restaurant scene in Spring Valley. With a name that is roughly translated as "delicious food," chef, owner and operator Pedro Fonseca does his best to put out exactly that.
Having worked in restaurants before opening El Manjar, Fonseca knows his way around a kitchen, and his three-part menu features breakfast favorites (served all day), a variety of fresh seafood offerings, and Mexican food specialties like quesadillas, burritos, tortas, and more.
Fonseca loves the community because he can serve his people, native Mexicans and Mexican-Americans. He strives to serve them authentic food that they have grown up eating.
The restaurant, located in a shopping plaza with a large Foodland Market, has an open dining room with plenty of available space for large parties. It features two TVs that frequently show Mexican soccer games and boxing matches. For those wanting to be star for an evening, the restaurant also has a karaoke machine, which it showcases on Friday nights.
