Founded in 1908, the El Centro Fire Department provides a range of fire safety and prevention programs. It operates more than two fire stations and serves over 39,500 individuals throughout the City of El Centro. Located in El Centro, Calif., the department offers public education, cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, disaster preparedness and fire suppression programs. It additionally provides fire codes enforcement, hazardous material management, emergency medical, and confined space and water rescue services. The department also offers fire investigation and inspection services for residential and commercial properties. It coordinates through fire engines, ladder trucks, mobile air machines, command vehicles and a rescue squad. The El Centro Fire Department has a staff of more than 30 assistant chiefs, bomb technicians, firefighters and paramedics.
