A three-time California Distinguished School, E. Hale Curran Elementary School is the home of the Cougars.
Nine of the school's original teachers and staff members were honored when the school celebrated its 20th anniversary in October 2009.
The school is named after Emma Hale (Sykes) Curran, who was born in Murrieta in 1900 and attended the two-room Murrieta School and went on to work at the post office for 35 years.
E. Hale Curran adheres to the Character Counts philosophy, working to instill the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
Before- and after- school care is located on-site for a fee.
