History
I established my private practice in 2009, but have been in the field of Psychology since 1994. In addition to therapist, other work experience includes caregiver to profoundly retarded adults, a teacher aide for severely disturbed children, drug and alcohol counselor, office manager, study coordinator, lifeguard, and seasonal firefighter for 7 seasons. I earned a double Bachelor degree from CSU, Chico in 1993 in Spanish and Psychology, and a Master Degree in Counseling Psychology from CSU, Sacramento in 2001. I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2005.

COVID-19 has us all on edge and uncertain. I offer video and phone meetings for clients interested in short and long term treatment for issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship, coparenting and mediation. Connection to oneself and important relationships is key to resilience. It is my goal to help you discover your potential and begin to thrive. I use a combination of warm and candid supportive therapy with current evidence-based and neurologically informed therapy techniques. Using this mixture of approaches allows my clients to experience important, deep and rapid change in their minds, feelings, and relationships. I strive to make therapy approachable and helpful, and immediately applicable. I value healthy families, individuals, and communities. I have worked in various agencies specializing in both adult and children/family therapy. I have experience working with children from 6mos to adults 80 years old. I value ongoing skill building and am trained in numerous therapeutic approaches for children, divorce, mediation, couples.
