Specialties
The deonThai Method of Thai Yoga Massage is a modern modality of healing with ancient roots in Buddhism, Yoga and Ayurveda from India; Traditional Medicine from China; and Shamanism from the indigenous tribes of Thailand. All of the courses in the deonThai School Training Program focus on building a sustainable practice where therapists use their whole body: including the feet, knees and elbows, as well as their hands (palms and thumbs). Certificates of Completion with Continuing Education Credits from NCBTMB & Yoga Alliance are awarded after satisfactory completion of any of the four courses in the Training Program: The Essentials Course (24 CE hours) Focuses on working the energy lines on the legs, arms and back by applying Thai-style acupressure, with the client lying face-up, face down and seated. The Fundamentals Course (24 CE hours) Focuses on joint mobilizing and stretching with a series of assisted yoga movements with the legs and arms in a variety of positions. The Comprehensive Course (40 CE hours) Integrates and combines the Essentials and Fundamentals sequences. Delves deeper into the combination of physical bodywork and meridian-based acupressure and energy work. Learn to work with intuition as well as using specific treatment sequences. The Expanded Course (40 CE hours) Brings in a whole new aspect of working with the client in the Side-Lying position. Also learn an expanded series of supplemental techniques for Prone, Supine and Seated situations.
