The David Grant USAF Medical Center is one of the U.S. Air Force's largest medical facilities on the West Coast. Established in 1943, the medical center serves more than 83,000 military beneficiaries and provides community and referral health care, readiness, education, research, teleradiology and aeromedical staging services. It has various patient zones, including inpatient nursing units, outpatient clinics, and diagnostic and treatment areas. The medical center serves more than 2,000 men and women of the 60th Medical Group and offers a wide range of medical, surgical and dental services, including magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine and has a hyperbaric chamber. It also sponsors postgraduate officer training programs in general surgery, family medicine, diagnostic radiology, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing. The medical Center is located in Travis Air Force Base, Calif.
