Dr. Russell N. Stitzlein is a fellowship-trained UCI Health orthopaedic surgeon who specializes adult and pediatric orthopaedic oncology, bone and soft-tissue tumors as well as hip and knee replacement, . His clinical interests include treatment of malignant tumors of the bones or soft tissues (e.g., muscles, nerves, tendons, fat), including tumors that have metastasized from other primary tumor sites (e.g., lung, breast, prostate, kidney, thyroid) and limb salvage. Stitzlein earned his medical degree with special qualifications in biomedical research at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, followed by a fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Stitzlein has published several research papers and book chapters in his field.
