History
Darius Baker and John Scofield became partners in 1981, opening a cabinet shop named Custom Kitchens & Furniture. As market demand shifted toward full scale remodeling in the mid 1980's, they closed the shop and started D & J Kitchens & Baths, Inc. They chose to specialize in interior remodels with kitchens and baths taking center stage. In 2000, Darius and John began to focus on growing the company to what it is today, with several employees including an in house designer and a highly skilled field staff capable of any remodeling project. In 2011 John retired, but Darius and his company continue to focus on producing quality interior remodels in classic Sacramento neighborhoods. Today, D & J has completed over 600 remodeling projects and has several Contractor of the Year (CoTY) awards.
