History
A unique collaborative partnership of Southwestern Community College, California State Parks and the Division of Boating & Waterways was formed in 2000. Primary emphasis is to provide boating safety instruction through a combination of college courses, public instruction, youth and group programming and community outreach. The only higher education center to be located in a California State Park (Silver Strand State Beach) on coastal waterways, CCAC is nestled in between Coronado and Imperial Beach and provides a most exceptional environment to learn, practice and enjoy outdoor aquatic recreational sports.
