Located in Santa Rosa, Calif., Sonoma County School Superintendent administers the Sonoma County Office of Education, also known as SCOE that coordinates various countywide and regional events for students to participate in competitions and activities with other schools. Academic Decathlon is a ten-event scholastic competition for teams of high school students. The school superintendent provides countywide leadership for the public school system that is comprised of more than 40 school districts with student population of over 71,000 students.
