Since 1972, the Coronado Senior Center has been a gathering spot for local adults over the age of 50. The center is located in a small building next to the library, adjacent to the lawn bowling green. The center offers a variety of recreational and social activities, such as weekly bridge games, discussion groups, film forums, pinochle, book clubs, bingo and "chair" yoga. Special events include an annual harbor cruise and trips to local casinos. The center hosts group breakfasts and luncheons on a monthly basis. Additionally, the center helps seniors with more practical needs, including legal aid and tax preparation. The center currently serves about 400 seniors. The membership rate is $30 per year, which includes access to the center's library of books and movies. While they are separate organizations, the center also acts as the clubhouse for the Coronado Lawn Bowling Club.
