City Hall is located on Strand Way, just south of the Hotel Del and Orange Avenue shops. The building houses offices for the city manager, city clerk, mayor and city council members. However, the majority of city hall visitors come to get building permits and various projects approved.
City Council meetings are also held at this location, in the Council Chambers at the south end of City Hall. The Council meets the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 3pm.
City Hall was renovated in 2005. When you walk in, you'll notice half of the building is dedicated to Building, Planning and Engineering, and the other half contains the city administration offices. While you're there, be sure to walk outside and take in the beautiful views of Glorietta Bay and the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge, and be sure to notice to the murals by Todd Stands, which are located inside on the east and west walls.
