Established in 1973, Community Health Awareness Council offers several programs that address a variety of emotional problems affecting children and teenagers. Its programs are designed to protect young people from high-risk behaviors, such as alcohol and illicit drug use and violence. It has a team of supervisees and staff members that provides individual and group counseling and prevention services, conflict resolution and parenting classes, crisis counseling and other related services. The organization offers an after school program for adolescents from 13 to 19 years in age. Its restorative justice program is a part of the Santa Clara County s action plan and reduces juvenile crime and violence. The organization offers a youth empowerment program that serves lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning teenagers in the bay area. Community Health Awareness Council is located in Mountain View, Calif.
