In addition to serving astronomy students, CSM's 96-seat planetarium offers a range of free activities for children, school groups and the general public, including evening "The Sky Tonight" shows, when parking in the nearby Marie Curie Lot 5 is free. The planetarium's GOTO CHRONOS opto-mechanical space simulator and dual Digistar3 SP2 HD projectors display 8,000 stars to the sixth magnitude, 26 deep-sky objects and the Milky Way. The San Mateo County Astronomical Society meets here monthly, and invites the public at no charge. Call for more information or visit the website for show times.
