History
The Clovis Botanical Garden grew out of an idea presented to the City of Clovis Council in 1993 by Gordon Russell. By 1995 legal non-profit status was granted to the Clovis Botanical Garden Committee, Inc. The first plantings started in 2002.
Specialties
Clovis Botanical Garden is a water-wise demonstration garden composed of beautiful plants that thrive in the hot summers and cool winters of California's Central Valley. It began as just one acre but has expanded to three acres containing plants from areas around the world that share the same climate at the valley including home landscape demonstration gardens as well as ground cover exhibits and a irrigation display is underway. The facility is located on City of Clovis land and maintained solely by volunteers and dependent upon donations, memberships and grants to fund maintenance and expansion.
