Part of the Claremont United Church of Christ, Early Childhood Center has been accredited since 1997 by the National Association for Education of Young Children. ECC, a nonprofit, was founded in 1945 by a group of parents. It embraces a developmental philosophy of learning, supporting and respecting children for who they are. The center hosts events of all kinds, such as field trips. One special event is the preschool yoga class.
