Healdsburg's modern City Hall houses several key city offices, including personnel and administration, and is the hub for a network of departments located throughout the city. City Manager Marjie Pettus oversees 14 city departments and a staff of nearly 100 full-time workers, as well as 30 part-time and seasonal employees. Pettus, in conjunction with Healdsburg's mayor and city council, oversees a $56 million annual budget. A huge growth in tourism and visitors in recent years has helped the city offset the economic downturn through revenue from a hotel and motel room tax -- or so-called transient occupancy tax -- of 12 percent, in addition to the city's 9 percent sales tax.
