The centerpiece of the Veterans Memorial Park complex, the Auditorium has served the westside community of Culver City since 1950. The city facility hosts a wide variety of events including many bodybuilding competitions, rhythmic gymnastics events, West Los Angeles College basketball games and has been the traditional starting point for the Culver City (a.k.a. Western Hemisphere) Marathon. Of note is the memorial monument which stands in front of the main entry, adorned with plaques which pay tribute to the history of Culver City and to more than 100 years of Olympic marathon winners.
