The City of Berkeley Energy Office’s weatherization program provides free services to low-income residents and seniors to make their homes more energy-efficient. Services include installing weather stripping, water saving devices, water heater blankets and energy-efficient bulbs, as well as replacing major appliances such as refrigerators, stoves and furnaces that are no longer safe. The Energy Office also conducts air-flow tests and provides carbon monoxide monitors. Residents must submit proof of income to qualify.
