The founder of the Chicken in a Barrel franchise, Mike Pierce, started this establishment in 2010 with two goals: to spread the love of God and to share the extraordinary culinary joy found in his delicious cooking methods. With God as the center of this business, family and dedication bloom all around. We are family owned and operated. Quality is an essential standard here. While vacationing in Hawaii, a local guide recommended that we try out Chicken in a Barrel as the perfect place for local barbecue. We were hooked, and dreamed of continuing Mike Pierce's vision by bringing Chicken in a Barrel to our hometown in California. The beautiful South Lake Tahoe location opened in the summer of 2018 and is the first Chicken in a Barrel franchise on the mainland.
