History
A martial artist all of his life, Kancho John Chang began professionally teaching martial arts in the Bay Area in the 1990s and had an opportunity to form an integrative system of martial arts in 2003, based on his background in karate, Kung Fu, and wrestling. His group started in Saratoga, where it has received a Letter of Proclamation for serving the community. Soon after, the group expanded to Sunnyvale, Los Gatos, and Menlo Park. In recent years, Chang Tai Do has also begun to form close ties with the Shaolin Temple as well as the US National Karate Federation, with its members competing in their tournaments and participating in their ceremonies. Owner Kancho John Chang will be inducted into the Hollywood Masters Hall of Fame for martial arts and hopes that his students, with time and training, will be able to have similar achievements and more.
