The CDI Early Learning Center and Children's Garden is a free, drop-in play and learning space that is an inclusive environment open to young children of all abilities, ages 0-6 years old, and families. The CDI Early Learning Center (ELC) is a museum-quality, developmentally-appropriate play and learning space in Canoga Park. Created by Child Development Institute, the CDI Early Learning Center promotes healthy development for all young children and provides connection to community resources and opportunities to strengthen families. With a focus on nature and the benefits of nature in children's healthy development, the ELC offers activities and special events that support your children's social-emotional development and school-readiness through literacy, art, science, music, gardening, health and wellness activities that can be done with parents, caregivers, siblings, and new friends from the ELC. As a parent, you may have questions about whether or not your child is reaching age-appropriate milestones. You might have concerns about your child's healthy growth. At the ELC, CDI hosts free monthly developmental screenings for children. At these Screening Days, Early Childhood Education Consultants and other trained professionals use evidence-based screeners to identify developmental red flags.
