Carmel Unified School District is comprised of K-5 elementary schools, middle school, high school, a continuation high school and an adult school, along with a Child Development Center serving children up to 11 years. Its curriculum is based on the California State Curriculum Standards that defines the knowledge, concepts and skills that students should acquire at each grade level. The district offers various programs to meet the needs of a variety of students, such as the regional occupation program, special education, gifted and talented education, and English as a second language. It also offers different enrichment activities, including instrumental and choral music programs, technology instruction, drama, and a wide variety of athletic opportunities.
