Diane started her professional life as a medical technician at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. At Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, she majored in Allied Health. Diane worked for American Retirement Villas and Manor Care as a business administrator in their assisted living facilities. It was then that she obtained her Residential Care Facility for the Elderly ( RCFE ) license and began to form her ideas on alternative approaches for senior care. Not long ago, assisted living facilities or nursing homes were the only choices for seniors who needed help. Today, many seniors and their families find in-home caregivers to be an affordable alternative. We started Caring Companions At Home in 1999 because we wanted to provide a higher level of in-home care and companionship. At that time, there were only a handful of non-medical home care companies in Orange County, California.
