This Campbell park lives up to its namesake. Large green spaces, three playgrounds, basketball courts, cement outdoor auditorium seating and benches sprinkled throughout makes this park a destination for families, athletes and visitors alike.
The park is located at the corner of Campbell and Gilman avenues, just past downtown Campbell and before Highway 17. Large leafy trees keep the noises from the busy Campbell Avenue at bay and ample street parking makes it an ideal spot.
Another attractive item is the set of full-length, night-lit (until 10pm) basketball courts. There is also access to the Los Gatos Creek Trail, which connects downtown San Jose to Vasona Park and on to the Lexington Reservoir in nearby Los Gatos.
Although only six throughout the park, there are picnic tables available and are first-come, first-served.
There are three areas for children and families to spend time: a basic swing set with surrounding benches and shady trees, a second playground with slides, climbing wall, merry-go-round and monkey bars and a third toddler playground, completely enclosed with tables and seating. There is also a water feature within the toddler play area.
Dogs are allowed on leash or to travel through the park to access the trail. They are not allowed in any of the children's play areas nor in the water feature.
