History
California Cryobank was founded in 1977 by Dr. Cappy Rothman and Dr. Charles Sims to help their patients achieve their dreams of family. Initially a small sperm bank, it was one of two in the country and grew over time as more and more physicians began referring their patients. By the mid-1980s, California Cryobank had helped define the FDA donor qualification standards and expanded to service all of the United States. From our humble beginnings, California Cryobank has grown into the largest donor sperm and egg bank in the world, as well as a nationally renowned stem cell bank and state-of-the-art private storage facility. Our focus on innovative services, scientific excellence, and unmatched customer experience continues to define us as an industry leader around the world. After 40 years, hundreds of employees, and thousands of donors, one thing has never changed...when you succeed, we succeed.
