History
Buena Vista Hospice was conceived out of the death of Bonnie Olson's Mother. As she travelled with her on her mother's final journey, she envisioned a different, more loving, and more sacred experience. The dream grew until it outgrew the container of her mind and became a living entity known as Buena Vista Hospice Care. The Agency received the State of California Health Department's licensure in 2005. It was first accredited by The Joint Commission of Health Care Organizations in 2006 and granted the very prestigious deemed status in 2007. Deemed status means that Buena Vista operates at a higher standard than is required by the state of California. Our most recent survey on August 7, 2012 granted the Agency continued deemed status for another three years. The Agency has grown from a few patients and a skeleton staff to a fully-mature organization with a complete staff of nurses (both Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses), social workers, chaplains, Certified Home He
