Bridge School, founded in 1986, is an educational program, serving children with severe speech and physical impairments through augmentative and alternative means of communication and assistive technology applications. It serves students in grades kindergarten through eight. The school s outreach program disseminates and shares information and technology developed within the educational program to parents, professionals and users of assistive technology across the nation and the world. It provides a summer camp experience for augmentative and alternative communication users between ages 5- to-17. Bridges School campers get an opportunity to participate in swimming, horseback riding, arts and crafts, evening skits and campfires. It offers a training program for teachers, speech pathologists, classroom assistants, and others who work with AAC using children in a home or school environment. The school is located in Hillsborough, Calif.
