Founded in 1963, Brandeis Hillel Day School is an independent coeducational school that provides academic opportunities for students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school enrolls more than 500 students annually. It offers classes in writing, reading and public speaking, mathematics, science and social studies. Brandeis Hillel Day School provides a variety of fiction, nonfiction and poetry books. In addition, it organizes a range of athletic activities. The school has a parent-teacher association that encourages the participation of parents in school activities and organizes fundraising events. Brandeis Hillel Day School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the California Association of Independent Schools. It is affiliated with the Bureau of Jewish Education and the Northern California Jewish Community Day School Network. The school maintains one of its locations in San Rafael, Calif.
