Incorporated in 1910, Boy Scouts of America provides various programs for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develops personal fitness. Based in Eureka, Calif., it serves 2.8 million young people between seven and 20 years of age at more than 290 councils throughout the United States and its territories. Boy Scouts of America publishes handbooks for all phases of the scouting program for use by youth members, adult leaders and parents.
