Pacific Harbor Line, a division of Anacostia & Pacific Company, provides rail transportation, maintenance and dispatching services to the Ports of Long Beach, Calif., and Los Angeles, which together form the fifth largest container port in the world. In addition to switching more than 35,000 units of carload freight annually, PHL provides rail switching services for nine on-dock intermodal terminals and provides dispatching services for approximately 65 intermodal or unit trains per day. Its ship commodities, such as automobiles, borax, cotton, grain, heavy equipment, intermodal containers, lumber, manufactured goods, petrochemicals and scrap. Its client list includes Amerigas, California Cartage, Certainteed Roofing, Conoco Phillips, Del Monte, Fremont Forest Products, LA Grain, Lexus, Nissan, Pacific Coast Recycling, Potential Industries, Shell, U.S. Borax and Westway Terminals. Pacific Harbor began operations in 1977 and maintains headquarters in Wilmington, Calif.
