History
Five brothers started the business in Guadalajara, Mexico and with time, the family's business made it to California in 2000. The only remaining brother in the business, Florencio Blanquel, has updated the traditional Spanish Colonial style which the family began with, to something more complex. He works with wrought iron, tropical and old rustic recycled woods (i.e. old doors, window frames, cattle yokes) and specializes in old-school carpentry by hand-carving detailed designs on furniture pieces.
Specialties
Blanquel Popular Art has been in Fullerton for over 14 years and with years passing, the growth and popularity of the dedicated business has expanded by delivering elaborate and unique solid wood pieces to the Orange County community. Dedicated to giving customers old-school style carpentry, owner and master carpenter, Florencio Blanquel proves that furniture doesn't have to come in a box with instructions and a small wrench. Instead he provides time and dedication to customers with 100% hand-built furniture, bringing out the luster, the beauty and the soul of the wood. If you're looking for something other than wood, we definitely have it. From hand-hammered wrought iron and color-rich authentic talavera tiles, to colorful arts and crafts from specified regions of Mexico, we carry it here at Blanquel Popular Art.
