With views of San Francisco Bay, the expansive Mira Vista Golf and Country Club is a prominent feature of the El Cerrito hills. Its rolling, carefully maintained fairways and greens are familiar to the many motorists who travel the adjoining stretch of Arlington Boulevard. It was known as the Berkeley Country Club in 1920 when its founders met at the University of California campus to plan the facility. The course was designed by Robert Hunter and Willie Watson, and the clubhouse was designed in the style of an English tudor country manor by architect W.H. Ratcliff, who also designed the International House in Berkeley.
