The Belle Haven Child Development Center is a preschool that specializes in child care for children ages 3 to 5 years old. The center is operated by the city of Menlo Park but it is funded by the California Department of Education. Maximum enrollment is capped at 96 kids, a practice that insures that the teacher-to-child ratio remains around 1:8. The kids have ample room to play in the outside garden area or inside in the well-kept classrooms. The school provides both a subsidized and a full-price fee structure. The full-price fee is $32.50 per day ($748 per month) for residents or $44 per day ($1012 per monthly) for non-residents.
