Specialists at the Bay Area Sensory Learning Center work with children diagnosed with learning disabilities, such as autism, pervasive development disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and acquired brain injuries. The center helps clients achieve educational goals through a teaching method that stimulates visual, auditory and vestibular modalities in the form of an intervention. This, in turn, helps children to process information using all of their senses down the road.
A standard program at the Bay Area Learning Center lasts 30 days and is drug free. Prior to beginning a program, each child's "perception map" must be measured at the center, so that each program can be tailored to his or her specific needs.
Parents interested in enrolling their child in the program must first meet with staff and provide them with information about their child's behavior and learning disability.
