The Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association (BAHA) is proud to announce its 34th Spring House Tour and Garden Reception, showcasing the hillside houses of the early- and mid-20th century in Berkeley, CA. This year's tour explores Maybeck Country, a neighborhood known for its heavy concentration of homes designed by the renowned architect Bernard Maybeck, as well as other homeowners and designers who built hillside houses in harmony with the surrounding landscape.
With a unique architectural character and a touch of mystique, Maybeck Country features a collection of romantically eclectic homes, each reflecting Maybeck's creativity and inventiveness. The tour offers a rare opportunity to visit private homes, including those designed by Maybeck for his family, as well as other iconic designs by architects such as John Ballantine and William Wurster. Don't miss the chance to explore the rich architectural heritage of Maybeck Country on Sunday, 3 May 2009.
