The Arts for Healing and Justice Network (AHJN) is an interdisciplinary collaborative based in Los Angeles, CA that utilizes arts as a vehicle to heal incarcerated youth and transform the juvenile justice system. With a focus on building resiliency and wellness, AHJN provides exceptional arts programming to eliminate recidivism and empower youth, envisioning a future where arts serve as a catalyst for change and transformation in the systems that serve them.
As the only arts collaborative for incarcerated youth in California, AHJN coordinates and supports 14 member agencies that provide high-quality arts education to youth in the Los Angeles County juvenile justice system. Through creative writing, spoken word, visual arts, theater, digital media, dance, and music, AHJN aims to increase empathy, solidarity, and community building, while also addressing systemic issues and advocating for juvenile justice reform.
