Arroyo Grande City Hall is the municipal government location for the city of Arroyo Grande, Calif. It incorporated in 1911 and has a population of nearly 17,000 people. The city encompasses about 5.5 square miles. The city is located on the central coast of California, midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The city has a general law, council-manager form of government. The city council establishes policies, approves ordinances and resolutions, makes land use decisions, approves agreements and contracts and hears appeals on decisions made by city staff or advisory committees. The city of Arroyo Grande has four committees, one advisory board and three commissions authorized by the city council, including the architectural review committee, downtown parking advisory board, parks and recreation commission, planning commission, senior advisory commission and traffic commission.
