History
We understand healthy pregnancy and birth to be a normal process of the body, not a condition or a problem that needs to be fixed. This philosophy is what we call biodynamic midwifery, which is shaped by the understanding that you have the ability to healthfully become pregnant, give birth and recover in accordance with how your body was designed. Biodynamic midwifery acknowledges the importance for midwives to trust, understand and promote an environment that is unique and essential to your care. We practice with the awareness of your body's ability to grow and birth a child; we avoid unnecessary practices and interventions that would cause greater harm than benefit you and your baby, and we turn to evidence-based practice if interventions are indicated. We actively listen to your needs throughout care, provide education and support on an individualized basis, and work alongside our clients to foster self-empowerment and informed decision making.
