History
Founded in 1978, with offices in Marin County and Santa Clara, Family Works is a nonprofit dedicated to helping people of all ages meet life challenges by providing positive social-emotional support and therapy. Family Works annually provides direct services to over 2,000 people of all income levels in 11 counties throughout the Bay Area. Family Works mission is to provide compassionate, effective and affordable mental health services that build essential life-skills and improve relationships.

Family Works specialized services include: Developmental Disabilities Services *One on one parenting support and life skills education for developmentally disabled adults Free Preventive Mental Health Outreach * Facilitated support groups for expectant and new mothers in Spanish * Preventive mental health services for high-risk middle and high school students * Specialized pre-school teacher trainings to assist in meeting their students' emotional and educational needs and to engage parental support On-Site Mental Health Services * Child Parenting Workshops for families in all circumstances * Counseling for individuals, children, teens and couples *Mental health services through the Medi-Cal and California Victim Compensation Program *Mental health support for the LGBTQ community Building Provider Capacity *Supervised Clinical Internships for Marriage and Family Therapist Trainees/Registered Interns to work with diverse individuals and family clients
