The California Maritime Academy is an educational institution that operates a range of academic and enrichment programs. The academy has been in operation since 1929 and maintains a physical education and marine survival training center. It is one of the only degree-granting maritime academies in the United States. The academy also features an engineering laboratory and simulation and technology centers. The California Maritime Academy operates bachelor s degree programs in facilities engineering technology, global studies and maritime affairs, and international business and logistics. The academy also provides courses in marine engineering technology and transportation. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The California Maritime Academy is a part of the California State University.
